Spring, “the season of renewal”.
A guided walk exploring the delicious, healthy and surprising array of edible and medicinal plants and fungi available in early Spring, with a wild harvested enchanted forest picnic for lunch.
Coming out of a season of dormancy we move into a time of supporting our liver, kidneys and lymphatic systems. While spring comes with newness and fresh growth, it also comes with congestion and seasonal allergies.
It is no accident that the word around us always provides, what is most needed in the season directly ahead of us. Springs bounty offers both food and medicine in support of easing the effects of a sluggish system, congested sinuses and the bodies over stimulated allergy responses.
At the end of winter here in Eastern Ontario, the countryside is covered with fresh, medicinal herbs like cleavers, chickweed, dandelion, nettles and dozens of other edible spring greens. Much welcomed gifts after a long cold winter. This is a great time of year to tune in to wild food resources for the year ahead.
