The gentle power of the plants and the earth is potent medicine.

plant medicine

As I reflect back upon the last 16 years of my life I realize that the answer to that question is both complex and simple.

The gentle power of the plants and the earth is potent medicine.

The process of transformation they offer is subtle.
The shifting of old patterns, the opening of the heart and mind, the spaciousness created to reflect, and the releasing of attachments are undeniable benefits.

More often than not we know and recognize what we need.
Knowing we need greater self confidence or to worry less of what others think is wonderful awareness, yet awareness alone is not enough to transform our experience in this life.

Working on the subtle level of the mind, floral essences support you in focusing on your strengths, creativity and areas of passion, whereby they dissolve the interest the mind has in how others may perceive us. As a result of focusing on areas that bring light to your life, your self confidence grows exponentially.

can plant medicine support me

Talk therapy and professional support is a very important part of healing from all types of trauma. I have been blessed to be supported by incredible professionals during some of the most devastating times of my life.

As I began to heal, as I shifted from simply surviving and as I grew forward I had a longing to step into a life of thriving. I was ready to feel vibrant and fully alive. Once again I would return to the gifts of the plants.

Ashwagandha for its beneficial effects on cellular energy production and in support of increasing endurance. This beautiful plant has been of great support in healing from the effects of PTSD and the heavy drained energy it had created within my body.

Others such as peppermint and rosemary improved my cognitive ability after the lasting effects of a head injury.

A gentle approach to moving beyond traumas

Please note: I do not suggest or support the ingestion of essential oils. When I speak of plant medicine I refer to the use of whole plant materials, harvested off of the land we live on.

Each person will need to ensure they utilize the plants in a form supportive of any current health concerns they may have.

Fresh, Dried
Teas: Infusions and Decoctions
Tinctures, Elixirs, Oxymels
Ointments, Oils, Salves
Sprays, Poultices

These are the most common forms of bringing plant medicine into your life.

A practitioner you trust whos practices you value, is the most important part of your journey.

How do i use plant medicine

Plant medicines do not have to go through the testing that drugs do. Some herbs, such as comfrey and ephedra, can cause serious harm. Some herbs can interact with prescription or over-the-counter medicines.

Ensure you are sourcing information from reliable sources.
Ensure you tell your health care provider about any herbal medicines you are taking. AND always disclose all medications you are on to your Herbalist.

I encourage self responsibility and further learning always. Take time to research plants, what they have to offer and if they have any potentially unwelcomed side effects.

Caution: Natural does not always indicate safe
